Cowboy Outfitters USA dominated the “Road to Cheyenne.” Chandler Bownds, Cooper Davis, Corey Maier, Ardie Maier, Cody Teel, and Trey Benton, all ranked in the top 15, qualified for the Championship Bull Riding (CBR) World Finals in Cheyenne, WY. Corey Maier, Cooper Davis, Cody Teel, and Trey Benton combined to win eight of the Championship Bull Riding Events which included Los Fresnos, TX; Laughlin, NV; Jackson, TN; Lufkin, TX; Hobbs, NM; Bossier City, LA; Del Rio, TX; and Fort Worth, TX.
The World Finals came down to a showdown between Trey Benton and Sage Kimzey. As Clint Craig, CBR Commentator, said “Sage and Trey brought it down to the last ride.” During the semi-finals, Kimzey would score 90 points while Benton

drew Flab Slab from The Jaynes Gang/Team Dial & Mean and scored 78.5 points after the bull stumbled to the ground. The Shoot Out Round would feature Kimzey, Benton, Neil Homes, and Corey Maier. Kimzey would go on to win the 2014 World Finals with 91 points on Ragin’ JT of Barrett/Craig/Keeton and Benton would finish second in the overall standings.
However, an exciting twist to the Kimzey/Benton showdown was watching the Dark Horse emerge from the shadows.
On the Road to Cheyenne, Corey Maier won the Don Johnson Ram CBR Bulls on the Border Bull Bash in Los Fresnos, TX. He scored 90 points on Brad Vogeles’ Dougie in the final round. Maier was stated as saying that the best thing about the Road to Cheyenne is the quality of the bulls. "I like it because it's really a riding contest, not a drawing contest," he said. "You have a chance to win something on any bull you get on." The quality of bulls proved to be a success for him at the World Finals. Maier rode all five bulls that he drew and scored 88.5, 89, 90.5, 90, and 91. Clint Craig, CBR Commentator, stated “My stable mate rode all five bulls and he’s needed it. They all did (referring to all three Maier brothers). When one rides good, they all ride good.” Maier went into the finals ranked number 10 and jumped up to number 6. After not having much success at the Daddy of ‘em All, Maier brought his best to the Championship World Finals. Ardie Maier, who was unable to compete due to an injury, said “Corey stepped up to the plate and knocked it out of the park when all the chips were on the table. That’s what champs do and it showed he is one.”
You can bet that the 2014-2015 Championship Bull Riding season will be just as competitive as this last one and you can be sure that the Cowboy Outfitters USA team will be just as strong.
