The air was cool, the stands were packed, and the bull riding was hot at the Championship Bull Riding (CBR) Word Finals in Cheyenne, WY.   July 25th kicked off night one with each bull rider getting on two bulls.  All Cowboy Outfitters USA (COUSA) cowboys covered their first bull.  Reigning CBR World Champion, Cody Teel, kicked things off with an 85.5 on Back in Black of D4 Cattle Company.  Young gun Wyatt Rogers of Rose, OK, also picked up 85.5 points on Yabba Dabba Doo of Rawson/Probst.  Chandler Bownds rode for 87 points on Platinum Gold of Championship Pro Rodeo.  The Cajun Cowboy of Baton Rouge, Jacob O’Mara, brought down the house with 89.5 points on Harris Bucking Bull’s Herby.  However, the COUSA cowboys had some tough luck on their second trip out. To wrap things up on night one, the young cowboy from Texas, Tyler Taylor, came out of nowhere with 172.5 points on two.  Juan Alonzo was the high point man with 90 points on Rawson Bucking Bulls Too Juicy. Night two followed the standard CBR format with each bull rider taking one bull, with the top 12 going into the semifinals, and the top four in the shootout round.  O’Mara kicked off the COUSA cowboys with a 90 point ride on Hy Test of Jared Allen’s Pro Bull Team #1. On Jerilynn Harmon’s Elite Bulls #1 Karaoke, Cody Teel put up 89.5 points.  Wyatt Rogers wasn’t to be out down and scored 87.5 on Crime Spree of Championship Pro Rodeo.

The CBR bulls got the best of the COUSA cowboys in the semifinals but Sage Kimzey proved why he is the number one man in the CBR by putting up 90.5 points on Crimson King of Winston Loe/Melton Bull Company. Sage Kimzey, Eli Vastbinder, Cody Rostockyi, and Tyler Taylor were the top four cowboys in the shootout round. Sealing the deal, Kimzey rode Cowtown Cartel of Barn2Buck for 93 points taking the CBR World Finals win, CBR Championship Title, and $140,000.
